Eto'o top target for Milan

Italian sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the possible exchange of AC Milan forward Alberto Gilardino and AS Roma central defender Philippe Mexès, has caused AC Milan to contact Barcelona to let them know about their renewed interest to sign Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o (27). The Cameroonian international, who has the support of Milan vice-president Alberto Galliani and Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti, would be the top candidate to replace Gilardino in case the latter leaves.

Barcelona last summer already rejected a Milan offer of 40 million euro (°) for Eto'o, who was then said to be not amused because Barcelona brought in French international Thierry Henry (30). The paper now suggests that Chelsea forward Didier Drogba (30) will join Barcelona if former Chelsea manager Mourinho would become the sucessor of current Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard, which could lead Eto'o to leave the club in the summer. Barcelona would then be ready to accept an offer of around 30 million euro (°°).

Keep dreaming. :-D Eto'o is the best one, I dont see any intelligent reason to replace him with (older) Drogba.

Pep,
Galliani not Galliano. ;-)

wo100sest,
Exactly, Samuel isn't interested to leave. This is speculations from Italian media, nothing else. Samu was the one in Barça that supported Henry's arrival the most last summer.

Even if Mourinho become the new trainer, which doesn't seem likely today, wouldn't mean that Samu leaves. Mou is a big fan of Samu and always wanted him in Chelsea.

Thanks, changed it. I must stop posting when I'm running to catch a train... ;-)

About Eto'o and Milan: I can assume they want him, cause he's just perfect for them and would make them finally forget about Shevchenko, but it just won't happen.

If Mourinho takes over from Rijkaart, Eto will leave because he doesn't like Mourinho. Drogba and Lampard wil come to Barca and they will play the Chelsea way. If Barca fans think they are unhappy now, wait til' someone like Mourinho take over.
