Barcelona wants Trezeguet

Italian sports paper Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Barcelona is interested in Juventus forward and French international David Trezeguet (30). The French attacker would be the first request of newly appointed manager Josep Guardiola.

Barcelona would consider to offer Juventus in exchange Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (27). Trezeguet is nevertheless quoted by the paper as saying that he doesn't have plans to leave: "I'm playing with one of the most important clubs in the world and I would like to finish my career here."

I think the first thing "we" (as fans) need to do is question wether these rumors are coming from the Catalan press or from the horse's mouth (Guardiola). I find it almost impossible to believe that this would be a preferred Guardiola target for several reasons...A.)The team has more pressing needs (i.e. entire backfield)...B.)How many strikers does it take to change a light bulb in Barcelona? (Geez, don't we have enough already?!)...C.)You're going to (possibly replace) Eto'o who should be just coming INTO his prime for a player who maybe has 2 "good" years left at best?! This absolutely makes no sense whatsoever! Why don't the press just link Barcelona with EVERY striker in the world! Who has the press failed to mention so far? Oh, yeah, look for Vagner Love to be mentioned as a possible transfer target soon as well! Give me a break!!

This rumour is coming from Italy. Don't believe a word of it because it's worth horse shit.

No way Pep wants this player, and he would certainally not be his first request. I laugh at this so called rumour. :D
