Trezeguet would accept Barcelona offer

Madrid sports tabloid Marca claims that, with the transfer of Arsenal's Adebayor seeming very difficult, Juventus forward David Trezeguet (30) is again an option for Barcelona (read more here).

Trezeguet would already have decided to join Barcelona if he would receive a concrete offer in the coming weeks and is now waiting for Barcelona to take the next step.

The French striker met with Thierry Henry last weekend and told him that the first contacts have been established and that he would seriously consider an offer. Trezeguet asked his compatriot more about the city and the life in Barcelona.

I am not sure if he could do better then Eto'o actually i dont really think he would fit in. Yeah he is good in air, he scores a lot he is the so called "perfect" 9, he is kinda guy Pep is looking for, but a better option would be Drogba than treze. Also his price tag is quite high. So lets see what will happen let the team finish the last piece of the jigsaw. As etoo is a must to leave.

Barca can't buy him for too much money on him. He is now 30. Although he still kept quite fit. I think he is around 8-10 million euros. But barca should just buy him if Eto'o goes. Or else it would be a waste of money having another Striker.

Damn, do we have to live with this rumour once again? I'm going to have nithtmares again.

Hopefully it's shit Marca who as usual make up things.

Juventus and Trezeguet have earlier ruled out a move to Barcelona.

I don't want him near Camp Nou.

sorry, we don't want Drogba...he has a dumbass personality and collects red cards like Shaq collects jelly donuts.

I would take Trez over Drogba anyday of the week and twice on sundays. Both are 30, but Trez is a good guy, better in the air, cheaper and not a headcase like Drogba.

But in reality I want neither and I would prefer to keep Samuel Eto' o because he is better than either player.

I'd take Drogba over Trezeguet in a millisecond. And statistically, the supposition that Eto'o is "much better" than Drogba or Trezeguet can't really be proven, unless both strikers played in the Liga.

We know that Drogba had 6 Champions League goals in 11 appearances, vs 1 for 7 for Eto'o. On paper, that would make Drogba much better, right? The last time Juve was in Champions league, Trezeguet was 6 goals in 9 appearances, a prodigious scoring rate, to say the least.

I think that for a lot of people, Eto'o is "better" than other strikers because he's ours, and has been here through the glory years. On paper, the "better" contention just doesn't hold up.

Just another rumor revisited by 'Marca', I guess they must be running out of fresh ideas.

As far as what the previous commentator said comparing Drogba and Trez I simply cannnot agree. I won't deny Drogba's petulant behavior. Nor will I deny that Trez is the more clinical of the two. But keeping in line with Pep's "manifesto" of what he's looking for in a 'target man', Drogba meets most if not all of the requisite criteria. Also keep in mind that Drogba didn't really start to unravel until Mourinho left Chelsea. Mourinho gave Drogba some rope to act out his theatrics, but when he noticed it was starting to go far he would yank the leash and bring Drogba back in tow.

Is Drogba "the" best striker avaiable skill wise? NO! Is he the best "fit" for what Pep's looking for at Barcelona? Most definitely!
