Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona Atlètic attacking midfielder and Spanish youth international Iago Falqué (18) is close to joining Italian club Juventus.
With Barcelona Atlètic coach Luis Enrique not counting on Iago for this season and the alternative being a return to the Juvenil A team, Iago has decided to accept one of the many offers he has received.
Manchester United and Ajax have also shown interest in the player but the fact that Juventus manager Claudio Ranieri has asked himself for the transfer seems to have been decisive. A deal could be closed later today.
Iago would leave on a free transfer although Barcelona will receive a fee if he plays a certain number of matches with the first team and a part of the transfer fee is the player is sold by Juventus later on.

I dont understand why cou blame Txiki and Laporta? This case is only Luis Enrique's fault...and this case is completly differen to the Fabregas'. Only idiot could compare it.
A very "interesting" move by Juventus considering they have up and coming Giovinco who essentially plays the same position if I'm not mistaken. I'll be curious to see what Juventus has in store for Iago, do they keep him at the same position? or perhaps convert him into a winger?
All I know is Giovinco is thought to be the next 'Messi' in some circles and not only are Juventus pinning their hopes in him but so is the National Team that he can be their 'savior' (perhaps as early as the 2010 WC) and restore the team to it's previous glory.
I wish Iago well but with a starlet already on board ready to assume the same position I find this move by Juventus a bit of a head scratcher.
WTF??? Why the hell does Laporta Txiki keep letting the promising young talent out the door? At least include a buy back clause. The best option would be to loan him out so he can get some playing time. Then we will see how he develops. I really question the intelligence of the leadership of the club.
Giovinco the 'Messi'? Yeah right, for starters he's older than Messi and there's no way he'll be near Messi's class.
Iago plays on the right wing, Giovinco on the left wing.
Notice 'I' didn't say he was the next Messi, that's mostly overhyped chatter you hear on other forums, mostly from partizan Juventus fans.
Thanks for pointing out the different positions they can play on the pitch. I guess there is room for both of them after all.
Iago is not a right winger. He's left-footed and in our system mostly plays left wing forward or left attacking midfielder.
Iago is a right winger...saw him play at the u17 tournament. He was voted as the best player that time. But if you follow the Barca system for the last years you see that Right footed players play on the left and Left footed on the right....
