Milan interested in Abidal

Italian tabloid Leggo claims that Italian club AC Milan held a crisis meeting on Monday, at which - amongst other thigs - Milan sports director Ariedo Braida has been ordered to start making contacts to see if a transfer of Barcelona left back defender and French international Eric Abidal (29) could be possible.

Milan would want to use Abidal as centre back defender but the Italians realize that it will be difficult and expensive to find deal with Barcelona.

SELL SELL SELL!!!

Yeah if this is true i would say SELL! Abidal doesnt fit the system that Barca plays.
Lets get alot of money from Milan for him then buy someone better for the left back!

Let's not make Abidal the next Gudjohnsen. Meaning a player who does not fit at Barca, mainly because of their skill...or lack thereof. I can't begin to count how many goals have been a direct result of Abidal SUCKING.

Let's not forget he was impressive during the first half of last season, so then he apparently did fit our system. His problem is that we don't have a proper left winger so we're expecting too much from him.

We shouldn't again stupidly put another player up for sale and get nothing for him, while on the other hand: if Guardiola dooesn't count on him, better to get him out asap cause his value will fall quickly. Although I'm quite sure they love his type in Italy and Benitez will sure come after him too.

Hm, January would make sense because he isn't cup-tied for Milan (UEFA-Cup).

We should sell him and get Filipe + Guardado from Depor (I think 20-25 Mio. should be enough), awesome left wing duo with great potential.

Definitely sell him if we can get a half decent price for him. We would also need a LB replacement right away, and that's hard to find. For the time being we can continue to play 3-4-3 and use Caceres at LB.

Knowing how cheap Milan has become lately, they'll probably offer a loan deal with a future price or offer just 7-8 million euros.

The best news that I heard for a long time
Sell him and buy Lahm or some other world class left-back

He's excellent player, but I'd sell for only 1 reason - his age. Selling him for 10-12M (15M in the best case), Henry (15M), Gudjohnsen (5-6M) and maybe Yaya to Arsenal for 15M, Barca would earn some money for left wing and maybe another striker, which is highly needed. Just imagine what would be now if Barca let Eto'o go this summer. No-one to score. Horrible.

And who told you that you can start a FCB fantasy team here? "Lahm, Filipe + Guardado from Depor (I think 20-25 Mio. should be enough)", etc... remember its very easy to sell Abidal, but it wont be easy to get all these guys you are talking about. Ask Madrid, money dont always get you what you want. So once we sell him, we would play Puyol (a right footed guy) as our LB, remember we would not always play against Sporting who dont know how to attack. Play that your lineup against Arsenal/Man U and you would all lick your wounds!! enuff said...

I repeat: I do not understand the hatred of Abidal. I would bet that if you look at every match last season, you would find that the other defenders were responsible for just as many goals as Abidal. Even some of the goals that Abidal was "responsible" for were in some instances him covering for someone else.

Find a better defensive left winger for the Barca system. That's the challenge. Sylvinho is slow. It took him about 5 seconds to give the ball away against Sporting. Caceres is fast, but he isn't as fast as Abidal. Nobody on the side is except for Henry.

Puyol looked very good against Sporting, a team that doesn't have a real threat on the wing. But don't forget the two plays in which the Sporting forward accelerated and left he and Marquez standing in quicksand.

Lahm can't even keep guys in check in Bundesliga. Can you imagine what the ball skill-rich attackers in La Liga would do to him?

Selling Abidal would be a mistake, plain and simple.

Sell him and buy Gael Clichy instead.

Clichy is fragile, and gets caught out of position even more than Abidal. But he is fast.

Guys...you know what? lets play a statistical game, till the end of season, lets count how many times Payol will flop causing goals, & how many times he will play bad passes, and count the same for Abidal!

I said till the end of season because abidal is here to stay, The same names here who complained that hleb was the worst option to sign, keita transfer is disaster, now focused on abidal after they felt the first two may prove them wrong, and no need to say that they are the same people who wana shoot valdes in the head.
It seams that some people feel they cant be seen as football experts till they whip the unpopular boys.

For the first time no one complained here that the left backward didnt contribute offensively in the game against Sporting, why?simply because the LB in that game was payol, not abidal, no one saw how many bad passes payol played, or even messi - more than abidal did in two games. y?because they are the popular knights, the untouchables, the ones that if you criticize u will be criticized back, so let us whip the one that everyone will cheer us for punching and will join the party!

Payol didn't flop against sporting simply because they didn't attack, in the second half when they moved little bit up, payol needed iniesta and keita to offer him help, he will never work on the left, and you are suggesting to sell abidal and use caceres and sylvinho, how do u know Caceres is better "and fit what so called barcelona system" if he still haven't played this season? he may be better but how can u b that sure? simply you "feel" he is better, the same way you "feel" abidal isn't good, and the way u "feel" messi was unlucky against sporting while he was simply bad, unlucky means hitting the post, but playing wrong passes again and again, dribbling forever, and shooting badly, where is the luck in that?

foot ball is not about feeling, its a science, there is no other known left backward in the world that fit "barcelona system" the way abidal do! he is a left backward who click as a central back, and thats what pepe need, not a lahm, nor a clichy or whom so ever.

This is getting hilarious!

I wouldn't mind selling him if we can get a replacemnt that is 1. Younger, 2. At least as good, 3. Isn't cuptied. It will be impossible to find that and Abidal is a decent player.

Don't know who said but if you play in CL you are cup-tied for the UEFA-Cup and vice-versa.

If Pep want to use the left back as a centreback when we attack then there aren't many options out there and suddenly it makes sense why they bought so many centrebacks this summer. Insua (Liverpool) would be an interesting player in that case but I think he's cuptied and Liverpool wouldn't be too keen to realease him since he's an extra ordinary talent. On the other hand if we are going to have a modern leftback that helps in offence there are a sea of options out there. My dream would be Clichy or maybe Gareth Bale.
