Possible deal on Brazilian striker Keirrison

Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Barcelona could have reached an agreement on the transfer of Coritiba forward and Brazilian youth international Keirrison de Souza Carneiro (19).

Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain would have met in Buenos Aires, Argentinia with the agents of the Brazilian striker, who has sixth months left on his Coritiba contract.

A transfer price of 13 million euro° would have been agreed upon. The fee will be split between Brazilian first division club Coritiba and the agents and owners of the player.

The paper also mentions another rumour that says that it is in fact an intermediary, appointed by Barcelona, who would have reached an agreement signed by all parties concerned, including Keirrison.

Keirrison is represented by the same agents as Barcelona central defender Henrique (21) and like in the case of Henrique, who plays on loan with Bayer Leverkusen this season after he joined Barcelona last summer (read more here), Keirrison could immediately leave on loan.

Asked about the rumours, Marcos Malaquias, one of the agents of Keirrison, denied the deal and indicated that he plans to travel to Spain next week to negotiate with Valencia.

It's a risky business buying player from the YouTube presentation (anyway, it looks quite impressive).
I hope some of FCB scouts were tracking this player, because he could become another "wasting money" buy.

seemed quite good at finishing and looked quite strong. Only 19... why not?

Powerful shot for a young man. The new Adriano?

Seems a bit to expensive to sign a player with just 6 months left on his contracts for 13 million. I'm not familiar with the contract and transfer rules of Brazil but can't we offer him a contract now and get him for free next summer?

There's an article at goal.com about it.
But, if "As" say so, I don't know how reliable they are. They claim Benzema will join RM next summer too (this one can be true).
I agree with SimonP, 13M is a big money for the player whose contract expires in 6 months time.

we don't need! Bojan is coming! Baaaarca you must concentrate only on Aguero or Benzema !

i don't like him, in america football is much weaker than in spain... He is not the best option for Barca

...keirrison stats...100 appearences for coritiba - 54 goals...this season...21 games - 16 goals...10 with right foot,1 with the left,2 with the head,1 by penalty,1 by free-kick,1 otherwise...not so bad!!!

It is true that some Barca fans are so negative and they look to every move as an imminent disaster...

His team doesn't own him (or only a small part) so the fact that he only has six months on this contract doesn't really influence the transfer fee.

Good point pep,

I hope they do get this kid if he is very promising that is of course. It's always a pleasure to see great talent come to Barca. I hope this one is a diamond in the rough. Imagine having three world class players with ten years left in them: Bojan, Messi, and then this kid. That would be so exciting.

Anyway, good point about how the remainder of the contract does not influence the transfer fee, as was seen with Mascherano and currently with Tevez.
