Eto'o first choice striker for Milan

Asked about the rumours linking Lyon forward Benzema to his club, AC Milan vice-president and chief executive Adriano Galliani has said in an interview with Italian television channel Sky Italia that Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (27) is on top of his wish list:

"Benzema is a great player, he's young, but there's nothing. We don't want to disturb Lyon or president Aulas. We didn't yet talk with him and Lyon is asking too much so I think he'll stay where he is.

As for me, there's one other centre forward that I like a lot: Eto'o. If it would be possible, I would sign him but it's a dream. This summer I travelled to Barcelona to ask for him. They asked a transfer fee of 50 million euro°, I left the restaurant and I quickly returned to Milan."

Its not only funny but also smart. Why will Galliani put Benzema on the top of the list when he know he simply cant sign him, and why "unsettling Lyon"? instead he can try to unsettle Barcelona and Eto'o, a player he can get this summer for cheap if the Cameroonian decided not to sign a contract extension with Barcelona.

A smart message to eto'o from Milan "we worship you and u are the best, come and show those benzema fans we are right that you r much better, come to where you are undoubtedly appreciated"

I just hope Barca board will renew Eto'o's contract in forthcoming months (without any restrictions). It would be stupid to lose such a player. He is showing everyone how good he is. He's definitely in better shape than any other striker. There's simply NO replacement for him at the moment.

And yes, I agree with you Ramzi. Let them all buy Benzema, but I want Eto'o stay.

P.S. Pep, I'm step closer :))

I believe that Eto'o and Zlatan are the best forwards in the world right now.It would be a great mistake not to keep him here.

Ig theyre asking 100 million for Benzema, 50 for Etoo is no exaggeration.

But of course, in reality both figures are high.

Good early message to Eto'o, but Milan
better focus on winning Serie A...actually make that focus on playing
Champions League next season (after missing it last year) otherwise they can
forget signing any top-tier players. That said, competing for a player's
signature when he's fallen in love with his club all over again and that
club are top of La Liga and poised to go deep into CL...is not an easy
task. Barca need that extension soon...if they were to lose Eto'o on a free
transfer in June/July it would be catastrophic.

Eto'o renewal should be a top priority.

He still has at least 4 or 5 seasons at the top of his game in him, and if he's at the top of his game he's also at the top of the world.
