Leverkusen wants to keep Henrique longer

Asked about the rumours saying that Bayer Leverkusen would want to keep Barcelona central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (22) on loan for another year, Bayer Leverkusen general manager Michael Reschke has confirmed this in an interview with German tabloid Express:

"Yes, we're dealing with this issue. The question is: what does Barcelona want? With Cáceres, Milito, Márquez, Puyol and Piqué, they already have a lot of centre backs. We talked with Barcelona, they're getting regular reports about the performances of the player and they are very happy with the progress he has made.

It's clear that the player feels excellent here, he has integrated very fast. He likes the team, the club, he feels very good in Cologne, where he lives. We have already talked with him, his family and his agents and we would be very happy if he could stay."

The wish of the German Bundesliga leaders to keep Henrique for a longer period, has meanwhile been confirmed by Bayer Leverkusen sports director Rudi Völler in an interview with German sports magazine Kicker ("We're in contact with Barcelona, we will meet soon") and by Bayer Leverkusen president Wolfgang Holzhäuser in an interview with Cologne regional newspaper Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger ("This issue is a priority for us, although it isn't in our hands").

What about getting him back this summer and sending caceres?

I have already been thinking the same actually...

Although Caceres maybe isn't the player they look for.

I like the idea Ramzi, but it would be even better to find some EPL side to loan him to. or as you once suggested to establish a good relations with some Portuguese club to send players on loan to them in similar situations,
I also think that it will all depends on the availability and form of Milito by the end of this season.

No one is talking about selling him,we are all excited for having this young defender in our team,we are talking about loaning him so he get more playing time and come back as a complete defender.

Caceres' defensive ability is excellent but offensively it seems like he lacks confidence. His passing and dribbling ability aren't yet up to barca's lofty standards.
I think that the best way for him to improve is to stay at barca rather than being loaned out. Just look at the dramatic improvement yaya has made in the past year. If caceres can improve at the same rate, in two years barca has another worldclass center back in the mold of captain puyol.

Guys, I don't understand: Why is Pep playing Pique ahead of Caceres? I always though Caceres is better although he is not as physically strong and tall. That is the only reason why I can think of Guardiola playing Pique ahead of Caceres. What do you guys believe the reason is?

Pique is playing really well. :/

Cacares is pretty good but is susceptible to mistakes. Most likely that's why Pep doesn't play him much.

Puyol-Pique-Marquez is a good defensive line and cover very well for Alves.

Maybe Pep should give Caceres a chance as LB in the Getafe match. This is not the time to decide about selling/buying. We will see near the end of the season.

One more year at leverkusen is not a bad deal.

Milito is the best barça defender in my opinion,i'd rather sell marquez! altough he's playing well this season, there have been others..

Caceres is good, strong, fast and has a good pass. why nog playing him as a back up for alves. he is right-footed. He will be a big asset in the future. but I dislike he is not getting any chances.
