Anonymous said...: hmmm... keita did play LB once. he didnt do too bad. but i think sylvinho should start. keita could be brought on later if needed. he can play as a second DM if needed plus he can score too. but sylvinho should start as LB. i hope benzema doesnt play. apparently he has a hip problem. since we dont have puyol it wud be nice if he doesnt play. a victory against lyon will get the momentum going again. as far as caceres is concerred....his mistakes are worrying. a bit too rash in his decisions. but he'll improve. but in an important match like lyon we cannot afford little mistakes. i say alves pique marquez and sylvinho.
With iniesta playing like that lyon will suffer. After messi iniesta should get the ballon dor. seriously.; 09 March, 2009

According to the official website, Alves and Caceres are suspended. With Puyol and Abidal injured (and Milito ofcourse), we have a shortage of defenders.

I guess we'll see Marquez, Pique and Sylvinho on one side. One of the Barca athletic (Barca B) players, Boita, was included in training today as a possibl replacement, although I don't think he'll play. My guess is Kieta at LB.

Although I never wish injury to any player (well except ppl like materazzi), Let's hope Karim Benzema is unfit for the match and get's well afterwords.; 09 March, 2009

Anonymous said...: Its some sort of mistake. Alves cannot be suspended he only received one yellow card so far in the CL according to the Uefa.com website. Caceres has not even been booked yet so both of them will be available for the Lyon game.; 09 March, 2009

watched the lyon vs llie game the other day, to see lyon performance. Lillie has got their number, for this is the 2nd time in consecutive weeks they have lost to them. And last night's game no team was home or away. Was special game played in Paris. Like i said been watching them for past month. Before the 1st leg of UCL, i claimed that Lyon was in fine form and the rested most of the players before the match and Benzema had scored 3 goals in the last 4 games. However, since that magical header by Henry, Lyon have had bit of downard spiral. They have lost 2 out of the 3 next games and draw in the other. Juninho is still having a great season I say, only thing is he finds himself getting way too many yellow cards for daft reasons, but still deadly with his free kicks from set peices. Another player who has been peforming well, no suprise, Delgado and Keita. Keita has been playing more Center and Mid Field and helping out Delgado, while keeping Benzema up front alone striker. But, every now and then you see Delgado break through with a specatulor pass from Keita or Benzema. Thats another thing, Benzema started every game since 1st leg with us and if you watch, you couldnt tell anything bothered him. He came out against Lillie this weekend at the start of 2nd half and I only thought this was becasue of mid-week battle in UCL. He had some amazing chances just like Eto'o did over the weekend and even created some golden chances by getting by 1-2 defenders with his fancy footwork in mid field. All in all - Lyon I think has found a funk, just like us. They are top club of their League, yet they having promblems with their finishing and confindence. This has contributed to fallen out of place in recent weeks becasue of this have made the Ligue 1 more compeative. The 2nd leg should be exciting because both teams are finding troubles with staying at the top of their games. Again, take Benzema status very lightly - i give him 98% start.; 09 March, 2009
